Mynydd Troed – 3 Miles from the door

Myndd Troed translated to “Foot Mountain” is a very distinct Mountain (Technically a hill) that overlooks Talgarth. Its highest point is 609 metres and offers spectacular uninterupted views over Llangorse Lake and to Pen Y Fan.

You can walk straight from the door but it is around 3 miles to the base of the Mountain, so if time is limited you can park at bottom of it in the pub car park in  Pengenffordd (Charges apply) or there are a few spaces to park the other side of the mountain past Llangorse.

From either side, the mountain is a short but steep climb to the top but you can be up and down in an hour if you decide to rush.

The below route starts from Pengenfford, goes up the mountain past the trig point and back down the other side and into the Village of Llangorse. This time I had a lift back to Talgarth but again it is is in walking distance but it is well worth stopping and having a pint or two in one pubs in Llangorse.

This is also a great spot to catch sunset – but don’t forget to take a good torch for the way down as it is very steep.
